Angelo Petraglia is a musician and high school philosophy teacher. Born in Lodi in 1989, he began studying piano at the age of 8, and since his childhood improvisation has been his privileged way of musical expression. After graduating in Philosophical Sciences with full marks and honors in Milan, he moved to Siena to further his musical studies at Siena Jazz and Accademia Chigiana. From 2016 to 2018 he attended the Permanent Musical Research Workshops for Pianists led by Stefano Battaglia. His first piano solo work, Di Stanze, miniature, recorded in 2018, will emerge from this formative experience. The record, which includes 15 short improvisations, is largely inspired by poetry and in particular by the lyrics of young Milanese poet Davide Romagnoli (Di Stanze/miniature, Crema Culture, 2021).

Currently, in addition to performing solo, he has an improvisation duo with percussionist Giuseppe Sardina (half asleep, Setola di maiale 2023), together with singer Clizia Miglianti, “Visions”, a project that pays tribute to the great English poet William Blake.
