Pietro Pontini has independently developed an approach to the violin that looks at tradition with interest and irony, experimenting with uncommon tunings and emission techniques. He expresses his passion for unconventional music languages both through the reinterpretation of popular repertoire (klezmer, rebetiko) and through his own experimental chamber music trio Friedrich Micio.
